The Statistical Society of Australia was formed to be the organisation to support the work of state statistical societies in Australia. The society now represents Australian and overseas statisticians with state branches in six state and territories. Their main objective is to further the study, application and good practice of statistical theory and methods in all branches of learning and enterprise.

The SSA component of the conference will cover a wide range of classical and Bayesian methods in mathematical statistics, their application to environmental, social, biological and official statistics and international engagement.
